Image-to-Image Techniques
Learn to transform, edit, and enhance existing images using AI. These techniques let you modify images while maintaining key elements.
What is Image-to-Image?
Image-to-image (I2I) uses an existing image as input to guide AI generation:
- 🎨 Style transfer — Apply new styles to images
- ✏️ Editing — Modify specific elements
- 🔄 Transformation — Change scenes or contexts
- 📐 Reference — Use images to guide new generations

Prompt Specificity
Too vague:
Make it better
Just right:
Change the background to a beach sunset,
keep the person exactly the same,
warm golden lighting on subject
Iterative Approach
- Start with subtle changes
- Review results
- Adjust prompt
- Increase change intensity if needed
Common Challenges
Subject Changes Unexpectedly
Cause: Prompt too general
Solution: Be very specific about what to keep:
Keep the person's face, clothing, and pose exactly the same,
only change the background
Style Doesn't Transfer Well
Cause: Style description too vague
Solution: Use specific style references:
In the style of Studio Ghibli animation,
soft colors, detailed backgrounds,
whimsical atmosphere
Edges Look Unnatural
Cause: Harsh transitions
Solution: Include blending instructions:
Seamless integration,
natural edges,
matching lighting and shadows
Workflow Examples
