Inpaint is the Canvas drawing tool for local image edits. Paint the region you want to change, describe the result, and GPT Image 2.5 replaces only that area.

High is the default at 400 credits, the same as GPT Image 2.5 in Canvas and the Edit App.

Paint is an annotation guide, not a binary inpainting mask. GPT Image 2.5 receives the clean source plus the annotated overlay and follows the prompt.

Older Inpaint nodes that stored Auto 1K / Auto 2K map to Medium and High.
Output
The tool outputs a Blue Image with annotations removed. Connect it to upscalers, other image models, or video nodes.
Tips & Best Practices
- Paint only the region that should change and name the color in the prompt when you use more than one
- Keep High quality unless you want a cheaper or more expensive GPT Image 2.5 tier
- Describe the replacement, not the paint: “replace the green area with a red sofa”
- For whole-image instruction edits without a brush, use GPT Image 2.5 or the Edit App
